NovAliX is a contract research organization of 120+ employees providing expert driven innovative outsourcing and insourcing research services for drug discovery. NovAliX offers to the pharmaceutical industry a complete range of services spanning Biophysics, Biochemistry, Structural Biology, Chemistry & Drug Discovery.
The position is based at one of our client’s site located in Leuven, 30 km east of Brussels (Belgium).
You will join a young start-up in which you will contribute to move forward the research programs. You will be expected to:
- Conduct secondary screenings to support the SAR.
- Design and/or execute a variety of cellular and biochemical assays to study the mechanism of action for some lead series.
- Troubleshoot experimental issues.
- Properly analyze data using adequately described mathematical models.
- Provide written accurate reporting to the client and NovAliX headquarter.
You should have a PhD in life science, cell biology, in vitro pharmacology, biochemistry or any other related area with a first experience in the pharma industry, during which you have deepened and widened your practical & theoretical knowledge in developing and running cellular & biochemical assays in the fields of virology, enzymology or receptology.
Most importantly, you can demonstrate a solid bench expertise in a variety of cellular, molecular and biochemical approaches such as viability test, luciferase reporter assay, IF, AlphaLISA, qPCR, ELISA and/or western blot. Proficiencies in cellular image-based techniques such as HCA/HCS would be an asset.
We are seeking an enthusiastic scientist, enjoying bench work, who has a keen sense of responsibility and who is able to work independently in experimental execution and data analysis.
The candidate is expected to be highly rigorous, reliable, organized and capable of multitasking in an environment with changing priorities.
